Mandarin Kitchen offers a laid-back yet thoughtfully designed setting for those looking to enjoy Asian fusion flavors in Santa Rosa’s Montgomery Village area. This full-service restaurant blends influences across Asian cuisines with a balanced menu featuring approachable dishes and a few standout specialties like Orange Chicken, Har Gow Shrimp Dumplings, and a variety of flavorful entrees incorporating Japanese eggplant, Kung Pow vegetables, and rich pumpkin curry. The addition of creative desserts like Black Sesame Ice Cream over Matcha Cheesecake and refreshing options such as Mandarin Sorbet rounds out a menu that invites both exploration and comfort.

The restaurant’s vibe strikes a balance between trendy and cozy. The interior feels warm and contemporary without being overdone — it’s the kind of space that works well for casual lunches as well as relaxed dinners or group outings. There’s even a dedicated bar area, making it a good spot for an evening with cocktails like the Thai Martini while you watch the neighborhood’s gentle bustle.

Locals seem to appreciate the variety of smaller, tapas-style plates alongside their more substantial entrees, lending themselves well to shared meals or sampling a little bit of everything. Lunch tends to be a popular time here, with efficient, friendly service keeping things moving swiftly without sacrificing attentiveness. From weekday lunches to Friday night gatherings, Mandarin Kitchen accommodates different dining moods with ease.

Visitors drawn to fresh takes on Asian dishes without overwhelming spice or heaviness will find much to enjoy. The use of ingredients like miso-infused salad dressings, cashews, and avocado adds to a modern and balanced flavor profile. The atmosphere is lively yet not noisy, making it suitable for casual dates, small groups, or solo diners who want a flavorful meal in a welcoming setting.

Overall, Mandarin Kitchen sits comfortably within Santa Rosa’s dining scene as a spot for those who appreciate thoughtful fusion cuisine paired with a well-curated, inviting atmosphere. It’s particularly well suited for those who like to mix and match dishes and enjoy a relaxed but polished environment.

Well done food! We enjoyed the tapas size fusion plates such as the various tacos so have been back several times. We like everything we have tried and the prices are reasonable. Love the restaurant decors and the cozy atmosphere. Such a gem for our Santa Rosa. Highly recommended

We had the "Tour of Asia" appetizer, and each was delicious. It alone was enough for lunch, but we didn't realize it while ordering and also got the crispy pork belly, which was delicious. It had a great balance of pork and veggies. The leftovers made for a delicious dinner too!

The savory crepes are amazing, all the food is super tasty. I have been here a couple of times and always found the staff pleasant and fast with the lunch time orders. Never tried it for dinner but there are loads of great looking dishes I see other people eating.

Was lucky to get an invite for Mandarin Kitchen's Grand opening and I could not recommend this restaurant more. If you ever are in the Santa Rosa or Montgomery Village area, this is the place to be! The newly renovated place is so warm and welcoming. The interiors of the place are so hip and trendy without being intimidating. They have a bar area too! It's perfect for your GNO's, friday night hangouts, family/friend catch-ups/gatherings, or your date night go-to's. You're welcomed by friendly hosts/hostesses and are helped out with menu's - be sure to check out their bang-bang shrimp, crispy calamari, and pork skewers for your appetizers. You'll never go wrong with those! In terms of main courses, the kung pow chicken was a classic hit! It is so full of flavor. I also could not recommend the orange chicken enough - this is the real deal! However if you're into tasting something savory, I say try their savory crepe - it is an egg wrapped chicken & shrimp combo with a side of mint, lettuce, cilantro, and basil. Thanks to Chef Tony and his brilliant dishes, we had the time of our lives.
